REPORTS TO:Shop Supervisor, Team Leader or Shift Supervisor, based on assigned department or shift. Will also receive work assignments from Job Coordinators.

FUNCTION:Plans and performs diversified mechanical/electrical assembly operations to assemble intricate or large and expensive equipment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (Minimum Requirements):

Plans mechanical/electrical assemblies to be done by self or others, assigns, instructs, and checks work of Assemblers of lower classification and Production Assistants. Performs planning and layout work utilizing available space for best workmanship and results. Has demonstrated proficiency in assembling the identified products on the Department Training Matrix per established Work Instructions, quality standards, or equivalent and continues to learn more as needed.

Performs fitting, aligning and adjustments to insure proper flow, layout and free action of movable parts and operating requirements. Does wiring and tubing from complex assembly drawings, specifications, layouts, and standard operating procedures or methods. Forklift, Crane and Heavy Machinery Experience a plus.

Uses a wide variety of assembly and test fixtures, and hand and power tools. Recognizes defective parts, directs others, and is involved in unit testing.

Completed assemblies are subject to inspection and test.

Observes company safety rules. During production hours, uses assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Involves heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds. Operates cranes or forklifts (as certified) to move larger/heavier items.

Does other work as supervisor may require. Forklift knowledge, Cranes, Heavy machinery a plus
