Position Title: Volunteer Program Assistant
Department: Community Engagement
Reports to: Volunteer Services Manager
Summary: The Volunteer Program Assistant will assist, train, guide, and otherwise engage with volunteers on a daily basis, under the supervision of the Volunteer Services Manager.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Communicate with and screen prospective volunteers in a timely manner
Assist with scheduling and completing new volunteer interviews
Actively post, share, track and update volunteer opportunity listings across various recruitment websites
Update volunteer calendars and schedules, and communicate with relevant staff regarding volunteer schedule changes.
Train new volunteers in a wide variety of roles.
Develop a quarterly plan for volunteer recognition and appreciation
Assist the Mobile team at various offsite events as needed.
Prepare supplies and instructions/information for all Mobile/after-hours/weekend volunteers.
Audit volunteer hours in the Amplify database on a quarterly basis.
Clean, organize, and otherwise prepare volunteer workspaces daily.
Complete all delegated tasks as assigned and as needed.
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to manage priorities and workflow
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
Ability to work independently and as a member of our larger PRCKC team
Good judgment and the ability to make timely and sound decisions
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
● Frequently required to stand, sit, bend, stoop and/or walk.
● Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 lbs and more than 50 lbs
● Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions
● Occasional exposure to zoonotic blood borne and airborne pathogens or potentially infectious materials (examples: feline or canine blood, urine or feces, etc.)
● Frequent exposure to loud noise (examples: dogs barking, etc.)

Pay is $15.00/hour with a Monday-Friday work week, occasional Saturdays
