Job Description:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit, as directed by nursing management.
Nursing care is provided in accordance with the stated philosophy and standards established by the Nursing Service Department, regulatory agencies, and professional organizations.
The Registered Nurse is accountable for the safety of nursing care they deliver or supervise.
The Registered Nurse is responsible to the patient and the family or significant others for the quality of direct and indirect nursing care delivered.
Line responsibility to the Director, Obstetrical Nursing, or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required.
Experience:
Looking for Labor & Delivery RN with minimum 2 year of experience
Licensure and/or Certification:
CA active license
BLS healthcare provider.
Fetal monitoring certification preferred.
ACLS preferred.
Skills:
Basic nursing skills.
Communication skills.
Assessment skills; critical thinking skills.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Job details
*** L&D/PP RN Days/Eves/Nights Rotate w/ 1 Night of Call - 36hrs. *** 1. Unit Name: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum. 2. Brief Unit Description: 25-bed Labor & Delivery Unit which encompasses: L&D, PP, NBN, 2 OR's, 2 ANU rooms, RR. 3. Years of Experience Required: 3 years minimum. 4. Skill Sets Required: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Circulate, & Newborn Care. 5. Clinician to Patient Ratio: L&D 1:2-3 Evals, 1:1 Active Labor, Magnesium gtt or EPIDURAL. PP 1:3-4. 6. Patient Population: All. 7. Bed Count: 5 LD Rooms, 12 PP, 2 OR's @ RR, 2 ANU with 4 beds. 8. Census: Average daily census 15-25 mother, babies and labor. 9. EMR (Charting System): EPIC. 10. Floating Required: No. 11. Rotating Shifts Required: Day Rotate position w/ 1 Night of Call is (7a-7p, 11a-11p & 7p-7a). Eves & Nights positions are straight shifts. 12. Certifications Required: Active Massachusetts RN License. BLS, NRP & EFM (every 2 years). 13. Additional Information: ACLS (preferred).
