ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Doctor provides supervision and ongoing medical services.
Essential Duties:
The services shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
1) Supervise medical nurse practitioners working at the Facility(ies) in accordance with NorthCarolina regulations.
2) Oversee medical care of designated patients, along with coordinating care with other psychiatrists/providers on staff.
3) Round on patients in person as designated by Company.
4) Complete documentation in patients' medical records in accordance with Company policies.
5) Provide collaboration and support to other team members when consultation is requested.
6) Facilitate staff training on pertinent issues and standards.
7) Attend and participate in Treatment Team Meetings, if needed.
8) Meet with the Executive Director as needed to ensure safe and effective treatment for all clients and families.
9) Responsibilities shall be within scope of practice for Internal Medicine Physician.
All duties will be performed in person unless approved by Director of Outpatient Services or ExecutiveDirector of Facility/market.
Qualifications- Doctorate in Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Board Certified preferred in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Licensed in the State for which you are applying required.
- Experience in a residential setting preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned unit. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in Newport Healthcare's policies and procedures.
