Senior Inpatient Coder

If so, we want to hear from you LaSalle Network has partnered with a growing healthcare system in search of a Senior Inpatient Coder.
Senior Inpatient Coder Responsibilities:
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes to a variety of inpatient medical records in accordance with AHIMA ethical guidelines
- Analyze complex medical documentation to identify the principal and secondary diagnoses, procedures and other relevant medical services
- Maintain a high level of coding accuracy and productivity in accordance with established coding guidelines and regulations (e.g., AHA Coding Clinic, CMS guidelines)
- Stay up-to-date on the latest coding updates and industry trends
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies
- Educate and mentor junior coding staff (may be applicable)
- Participate in internal audits and quality improvement initiatives to ensure continued coding excellence
Sr. Inpatient Coder Requirements:
- Active AHIMA certification (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA) is mandatory
- 3+ years of experience in inpatient coding
- Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in medical terminology and anatomy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in hospital coding software (e.g., EPIC, Cerner)
