We are seeking a Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment and crisis intervention services for child/adolescent clients who present themselves from psychiatric evaluation with a broad range of mental health needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performs psychiatric evaluations, as needed, for purposes of diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Develop a treatment plan according to the needs of the client's needs and extent of emotional, social, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral disorder
  • Treat clients using psychotherapeutic methods and medication, monitoring the effects of any medication, and adjusting treatment where necessary
  • Evaluates client regarding their need for psychotropic medication and prescribes medication when appropriate
  • Write and maintain patient and clinical records, including the type of treatment and medication administered
  • Works with insurance and other third parties, when necessary, in order to provide medical clinical information on behalf of the client
  • Opportunities to work in a collaborative care model - work with a team of clinicians to consult and advise on behavioral health
  • Charts client' treatment and progress in accord with state and NCQA regulations and in keeping with accepted community standards. May develop and conduct psychoeducational classes and groups.
  • Able to work 30 hours per week
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved medical school.
  • Psychiatric residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training in a program approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Medical Association.
  • Certification/Licensure: Florida license to practice as a physician.
  • A certification in general psychiatry and licensure in child psychiatry.
  • Active DEA license from the State of Florida.
  • Experience and confidence in identifying and implementing evidence-based practices in mental/ behavioral health.
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinically relevant experience treating children and adolescents in a variety of settings.
  • A minimum of 1 year providing medication management service to child and adolescent patients with substantial competence in psychopharmacology.
  • Experience working in an office setting with thought leader psychiatrists and psychologists and clinicians.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a crisis.
  • Proficient notetaking and record-keeping skills.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms for virtual consultations.
  • Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Comfortable and familiar with the cultural needs of a Jewish population.
