We're looking for highly motived individuals that are passionate in working with children. The role that we are currently looking to fill is a Medical Assistant position. Medical Assistant assist the program and the clients by assessing, facilitating and monitoring all components of client medical services. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with regulations in policy development and implementation according to State Licensing and ORR, as well as on-going program refinement based on advances in the program.

Pay rate: $22.88/HR

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 12pm-8pm

Location: Mesa, AZ

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Medical Assistant Certification from accredited program required.
  • Clinical Medical Assistant Certification from accredited program, preferred.
  • Bilingual; possess effective verbal and written language skills in English and Spanish.
Experience:
  • Medical Assistant Certified plus 1-year experience working in human services and with population served and 1-year experience working as a medical assistant under an ORR contract
  • Clinical Medical Assistant Certified plus 1-year experience working in human services and with population served, preferred; and 1-year experience working as a medical assistant, preferred
  • Proficient in Phlebotomy, Lab Draws
  • Knowledge of vaccine administration
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Complete vital signs.
  • Perform patient assessments.
  • Reassess patients who are requesting medical follow up.
  • Initiate emergency treatment, if necessary.
  • Provide education to patients and families when necessary.
  • Sort patients into priority groups according to medical need.
  • Update medical information for UAC assessments and case reviews in ORR Portal.
  • Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies. Promote patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teach patient to understand what is going on with their medical condition.
  • Provide information to program issues/concerns relative to medical and physical needs of clients.
  • Complete IR/MIR/Infection Control reporting needed during shift, as appropriate.
  • Communicate with pharmacies and funding agency regarding medication issues.
  • Note/transcribe med orders as needed.
  • Audit medication books weekly to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in monitoring clients, as appropriate.

  • Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation
  • Current Auto Liability Insurance
  • 39 Month Motor Vehicle Record
  • Must Be At Least 21 Years of Age
