Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW) in Washington, DC is currently recruiting for a Psychiatrist to join our inpatient services. This position is for weekend coverage and PRN work. Physicians at PIW work in a collegial, supportive and caring environment that offers work/life balance. There is opportunity for professional and personal growth working with a diverse patient population, other physicians, clinical staff and administration.
The Position Details
Weekend/PRN Psychiatrist responsibilities for Inpatient work is initial evaluations and assessments and daily care of patients in the acute program.
Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):
- MD/DO degree from an accredited program required
- Board certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry required
- Licensed to practice in Washington DC or the ability to obtain a DC medical license
- Meets all credentialing criteria required by participating physicians
- Flexibility to see all ages as well as substance use disorder.
A highly competitive compensation package will be offered consisting of:
- Hourly rate or Fee for servcies model
- Malpractice insurance coverage
An option for Independent contractor can also be considered if needed/desired.

THE FACILITY: Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. We are a private freestanding psychiatric hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency and women s trauma. In addition to our main campus we manage several program units in medical hospitals across the D.C. area providing psychiatric inpatient, partial hospital, consult liaison and SNF consultations.
Training affiliations and community education programs are a vital part of our service to the D.C. area.
Located in downtown D.C. we are conveniently accessible via Metrorail, bus routes and other major streets and avenues of the area. Psychiatric Institute of Washington is owned and operated by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) the nation s largest system of freestanding behavioral health facilities.
