We have an opportunity with OrthoCarolina for a PRN Radiology Technologist for our Hickory office location. This position works on an as needed basis to cover for time off or leaves of absences. The hours of operation that may need to be covered are: Monday through Thursday 8:00-7:00pm, Friday 8:00-5:00, and/or Saturday 9:00-12:00
The Radiology Technologist will provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage of appropriate protection standards.
- Develops and processes radiological film/images and examines radiological films/images for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification and distortion.
- Delivers to physician for reading/interpretation film and or images by using the OrthoCarolina Picture Archive Communications System (PACS) when applicable.
- Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiology equipment and ensures equipment is in working order and reports equipment malfunctions to Radiology Manager or designee.
- Prepares copies of x-ray films/CD's for patients, tests, surgery and physicians as required.
- Logs radiological procedures completed, processes charges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
- Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department. Compliance with all OrthoCarolina policy and procedures.
- Assists with the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department. Assist with patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor.
