Job description

Music therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.

New Wave Wellness is looking for a team of music therapists who can utilize community-based techniques to improve physical, social, and emotional wellbeing. Your job as a music therapist for New Wave Wellness requires that you assist your individual client with finding a way to incorporate music to help develop and/or further develop their skills as they may pertain to their daily living.

You will be working closely with the individual, their immediate team members, and their community contacts to further the members, and community resources to help them achieve the highest level of independence possible.

As a New Wave Wellness Music Therapist, you will be held at a higher standard to help your clients promote wellness, enhance self-expression, improve social/speech skills, reduce stress/physical pain and emotional pain, enhance memory, increase motor coordination/rehabilitation and support academic learning.

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be organized
  • Possess strong documentation skills
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must have at least a Bachelor's or Master's in Music Therapy from an accredited program
  • Maintain Board Certification (MT-BC), CPR/AED, First Aid
  • Pass background checks including but not limited to: county background checks, criminal background checks, OIG check, sex offender background checks and CNA checks.

Pay:

$50-$57 per hour based off experience
