Maxonic is proud to maintain a long-term partnership with our direct client. In response to their growing needs, we are seeking a talented Senior Design Engineer for an exciting onsite opportunity in Fremont, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Significantly contribute to an elite Interior Components and Systems engineering team.
  • Design innovative Interior Components or Systems that exemplify luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, ergonomics, and functionality.
  • Assist in the packaging, engineering, release, and launch of various Interior Components and Systems within the portfolio.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional marketing, design, and vehicle engineering teams, prioritizing collective vehicle benefits over individual system needs.
  • Work closely with Interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and timely delivery of components and systems.
  • Utilize and enhance effective tools and innovative strategies throughout the development process.

Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of progressive experience as a detail-oriented lead in Interior Components and Systems development (including Hard trim, Soft trim, IP, Door trims, Consoles, Headliners, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of automotive Interior Components and Systems, including industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier capabilities.
  • Proficient in creating and refining technical product specifications and timelines to facilitate an accelerated development cycle toward SOP.
  • Experienced in using CAD software to produce 2D/3D concept drawings, layout designs, and DFM studies (preferably CATIA V5/V6).
  • Demonstrated experience in vehicle and product launches.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience overseeing a full program cycle from concept to production launch in automotive Interior Components and Systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle Interior Components and Systems, showcased by a track record of technical excellence and successful program execution.
  • Strong understanding of plastic parts design, structural performance, manufacturing technologies, craftsmanship, ergonomics, safety, and homologation requirements.
  • Competent in materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&T.
  • Passionate about creating high-quality products in collaboration with a capable team.
  • Practical hands-on approach complements strong theoretical knowledge.
  • Exceptional technical skills paired with excellent communication capabilities.
