Summary: Responsible for all bookkeeping operations and keeping office activities running smoothly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Organizes office operations and procedures such as typing, bookkeeping, flow of correspondence, filing, of supplies, and other clerical service. 
Balance cash register sales and money with total sales for the day. This includes:
  • Charge, cash, credit card and payments to accounts.
  • make daily deposit.
  • Prepare daily summary report.
Ensure floor manager has reports necessary to manage front of the store.
Prepare price sheet for department two items.
Keep petty cash balanced and sends in paperwork for reimbursement.

Prepare bills for payment:
  • Match packing slip to invoices
  • Get invoices okayed for payment
  • Send to company headquarters for payment
Process in-store expenses and branch vouchers
Answer phones
Copy & file paperwork
Sort and distribute mail
Prepare spread sheets as requested by the store manager.

Qualification requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education and/or Experience:   Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Language Skills:   Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization. 
  • Mathematical Skills:   Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 
  • Reasoning Ability:   Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Skills: This job requires that you work with computer to perform a variety of duties. It is preferred that the employee has prior experience with point-of-sale software. Preference will be given to applicant with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Windows. Must know keyboard and ten key by touch with moderate speed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or grasp objects or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms while working at the sales counter during busy times. At times it will be necessary to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The lifting is generally confined to office equipment and supplies such as boxes of invoices. No special vision requirements are necessary except that good vision (it may be corrected with prescription glasses) is necessary to do office work that includes computing.
