Technical Agronomist

AGRILAND FS is looking for a self-driven Technical Agronomist. This individual will provide technical agronomy support to AGRILAND FS employees along with local farmers and landowners. This position will work closely with AGRILAND FS agronomy and location teams.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and present training programs that will educate employees with the sound agronomic knowledge and skills they need to be successful. Key areas of focus would be soil fertility, crop protection and plant growth and development.
- Organize trial and research information throughout the AGRILAND FS territory.
- Execute on-farm research, including collection of data and management information.
- Support in-field agronomy concerns with professional diagnostic support.
- Promote management practices and a systems approach to address production and productivity goals.
- Monitoring agronomic and conservation practice performance.
- Build relationships and answer questions as a technical agronomy for AGRILAND FS.
- Successfully engage AGRILAND FS staff in building relationships, conducting outreach to their farmer members in a cooperative manner, and providing technical expertise as requested.
What we need from you:
- Normally requires a Masters in Agronomy and 3 or more years of agronomic technical support related work experience.
- Demonstrate knowledge of agronomy and environmental sciences with strong background in soil science.
- Currently holds or has the ability to become a Certified Crop Advisor.
- Proven professional communication skills (written and oral), customer service, interpersonal, presentation, and persuasion skills.
- Demonstrate planning, time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated the ability to be self-directed, make decisions, and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Require overnight travel on a limited basis.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
