If so, we want YOU to be a part of our dynamic team What You'll Do At VCA Aurora Animal Hospital: As an Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Technician, you will be an integral part of our team. You will be responsible for providing immediate medical attention to critically ill or injured animals, administering life-saving treatments, and assisting our veterinarians during emergency procedures. Your expertise and quick thinking will make a significant difference in the lives of pets and their owners. Utilize your expertise in critical care medicine to assist our veterinarians in providing life-saving treatment to animals in need. Monitor and assess patients in our critical care unit, ensuring their comfort and well-being around the clock. Administer medications, perform diagnostic tests, and assist in emergency procedures with precision and efficiency. Collaborate closely with our veterinary team to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Educate and support pet owners, providing them with the knowledge and resources they need to care for their beloved companions. Provide urgent medical care and treatment to animals in critical condition Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pet's condition. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records. Educate pet owners on post-treatment care and follow-up appointments Qualifications: Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience working in emergency or critical care veterinary medicine Strong knowledge of veterinary medical practices, procedures, and terminology Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners Compensation: $23- 32/hr. Starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available. Schedule: Full-time opportunity. We utilize a rotating 3 x 13 hour schedule. We are hiring for Overnight/3rd shift, 7pm -8 am. Shift Differential: We offer a $3.00 /hr shift differential to all hourly associates who work within a specific timeframe.
