Job Title: Registered Nurse - Infusion Job Specialty: Pediatric Oncology Infusion Nurse Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 4 shifts of 9 hours each) Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Prefer experience in pediatric infusion, procedure/sedation, and heme/onc background License: Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of work and residence; for National License Compact (NLC) states, meet licensure requirements in the home state. For non-NLC states, a current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner is required in the state where the RN works. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), APHON. Oncology certification preferred. Must-Have: - Proficiency in IV therapy, bone marrow, spinals, thoracenteses, paracenteses, and phlebotomy.- Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom).- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred. Job Description: - Collect data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or situation.- Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or situation.- Develop a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.- Implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.- Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with any applicable legal or policy parameters or principles.- Evaluate progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.- Practice in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.- Communicate effectively in all areas of practice.- Collaborate with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice.- Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.- Seek knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice and promotes futuristic thinking.- Integrate evidence and research findings into practice.- Contribute to quality nursing practice.- Evaluate one's own and others' nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.- Utilize appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.- Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.- Practice ethically.- Promote shared governance or facility decision-making activities, developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes and promotion. Physical Requirements: - Requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.- Must speak English in clear, understandable terms.- Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch.- Finger dexterity.- Critical thinking and ability to concentrate.- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
