Main Street Market of Tyndall Market Manager Position Description An Independent contractor (1099) position Responsible to the Grant Implementation Team Estimated to average 20 hours per week, 1000 hours per year Compensation $35.00 per hour, average 20 hours per week for services, plusexpenses at agreed US Government - IRS rates. Submitted to the GrantImplementation Committee for approval. Paid the Grant Administrator. Expected to live in or very near Bon Homme County Expected to have reliable transportation and valid license Expected to have home internet access Location of activities and compensation structure Primarily at Main Street Market of Tyndall in Bon Homme County Collaboration with markets, growers/producers, and customers in Charles Mix(SD), Knox (NE) and Yankton (SD) counties, may interact with area tribes Some travel within South Dakota for training, may include overnight stays Purpose and Duration: Purpose: Achieve goals set forth in Farmers Market Promotion Program Award #24FMPPSD1245-00 in collaboration with the Grant Implementation Team Duration: Position begins in early 2025, when contracted, and ends September29, 2027, when the grant term expires Education, Skills and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent administrative ormanagement experience, including sales or marketing Demonstrated passion for, knowledge of, and experience with local, family farmcrop production or livestock operations Demonstrated ability to work independently, to create schedules to meet goals,and to prioritize time and resources to meet deadlines Competence with platforms like, or equivalent to, Word, Excel, Power Point, Social Media, YouTube, and application of Artificial Intelligence Duties and Function Market Operation; anticipate a weekly seasonal market in Tyndall Supervise markets at Tyndall ```{=html} ``` - Per SDSU Farmers Market Resource Manual and best practices. - If the Market Manger is also a market vendor, the manager is required to have another person manage their stall for those Tyndall markets. ```{=html} ``` - Maintain contact with vendors about expected product availability - Promote attendance via web sites, Social Media, Print/EDDM - Encourage existing,and recruit new, grower/producer vendors - Recognize individual successes and setbacks - Encourage product innovation among growers/producers - Book programs and entertainment at markets May include management of an indoor market and a commercial kitchen Educate consumers about products to expand attendance and sales throughdemonstrations, tours of grower/producer operations and digital productions Questions?
