We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our team of Speech-Language Pathologists at Montefiore Medical Center .

To qualify, the candidate must have a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Certification by the American Speech and Hearing Association (CCC-SLP), a current New York State license and registration in Speech Language Pathology.

The candidate must hold the following skills:

  • Independent in evaluation and treatment patients with speech, language, cognitive, voice and swallowing disorders on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
  • Experience with the highest acuity conditions while caring for the swallowing and communication needs of medically complex and critically ill patients in the intensive care units as well as on acute care floors.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills to convey recommendations and provide education and inservices to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Proficient in conducting Modified Barium Swallow studies in coordination with Radiology as well as trained in performing, interpreting and applying results from Fiberoptic Evaluation of Swallow Studies (FEES).
  • Knowledgeable about cranio-facial abnormalities, congenital heart defects, gastrointestinal disorders, tracheostomized patients, use of Passy Muir Speaking Valves, and head and neck cancer.
  • Experience evaluating and treating patients in an Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility.
  • Additional potential clinical and research opportunities available.
  • Fluency in Spanish is ideal.
  • Flexible schedule inclusive of weekends and holiday coverage (Schedule will be either Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday).
