Work Shift: Day

The Senior Clinical Nurse assesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements and manages the needs of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge, including during transitions within the acute care stay. They are responsible for the delivery and coordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team, ensuring competent and compassionate care for customers. Joining the Float Pool offers exposure to 22 different medical and surgical units and a variety of nursing specialties, providing care for a diverse patient population. The role also comes with generous shift differentials.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests, and documenting treatment as required
  • Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions
  • Assessing and evaluating patient needs and responses
  • Applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions
  • Providing primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
  • Collaborating with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
  • Directing and guiding ancillary personnel and maintaining standards of professional nursing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program
  • Current state Registered Nurse license
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Previous experience as a PCA or other nursing assistance preferred
  • Commitment to continuing education
  • Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques
