Description
UCFS is accepting Dental students for internship
Exposure for the intern will include:
- Provide comprehensive dental examination, diagnoses, and treatment planning for all patients within the normal Standards of Care for the profession of Dentistry with emphasis on patient education and prevention
- Provide comprehensive dental treatment such as restorative dentistry, endodontic therapy, space maintenance, fixed and removable prosthetics, and oral surgery
- Participate in the Multi-disciplinary evaluations by providing dental assessments of foster children in the pediatric clinic as needed.
- Perform oral examinations at 1 year old physical appointments in Pediatrics.
- Comply with OSHA infection control procedures and follows CDC guidelines
- Consult by phone with other health professionals (dentists, specialists, physicians and pharmacists) and make appropriate referrals when necessary
Expectations for the internship include:
- Produces work in compliance with quantity and quality standards
- Meets all attendance requirements and arrives to work/events in a punctual manner
- Complies with all safety and regulatory rules and guidelines
- Manages competing demands and organizes work in order to complete in a timely manner
- Works with peers and management in a cooperative, courteous, and professional manner
- Actively engages in meetings, projects, and activities related to organizational mission and vision
- Service, both internal and external, is provided with courtesy, professionalism mission and vision
