Job Summary

The Associate Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for helping the manager to lead, direct, improve warehouse functions, including shipping and receiving of raw material and finished product, warehouse operations and organization, inventory control and relevant paperwork corresponding to each function of the warehouse. The Assistant Warehouse Supervisor must help maintain high levels of accuracy in day-to-day operations, lead, coach and develop the warehouse team, and provide timely, respectful service to all internal and external clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Motivate, inspire, and foster teamwork within the warehouse team to ensure that performance and productivity targets are achieved.

· Lead and direct warehouse personnel.

· Support 6S implementation, maintenance and associate participation.

· Ensure timely resolution of any unsafe practices or conditions.

· Encourage associate to provide ideas for continuous improvement.

· Identify, report, and propose resolutions to any quality problems or discrepancies through MRB process.

· Collaborate with the Quality team, ensuring all direct reports associates have been trained properly and have appropriate training records on file.

· Ensure all written work instructions are followed accurately and compliantly.

· Maintain accurate records of personnel and support areas for capacity planning

· Provide support or input to staffing, hiring, training, and performance management.

· Expand and develop the skills of the department associates through cross training and other methodologies to increase their capabilities.

· Oversee warehouse activities including, but not limited to the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of inventory per ColumbiaTech’s SOPs.

· Work closely with the appropriate departments to ensure proper flow of material.

· Utilize effective planning and communication to ensure all associates are clear on daily tasks and expectations.

· Maintain inventory integrity, accuracy, organization, and storage. May include physical inventory activities when required.

· Participate in meetings with other program functions in efforts to understand material flow requirements, to collaborate on more efficient processes, and to maintain clear and open communication.

· Work collaboratively with other departments to assist in special projects as required.

· Coordinate transfer of material from other CT warehouse locations.

· Navigate through ERP to analyze material availability and expected material receipt date.

· Monitor all time card transactions/sign offs for direct reports and assist in the handle any personnel issues.

· Provide a safe, clean, and secure work environment for all warehouse associates.

· Perform miscellaneous duties as required.

Qualifications

· Education: Associates degree preferred. Will consider equivalent warehouse experience.

· Experience: 2+ years’ in a high SKU mechanical/electronic component warehouse/stockroom environment, preferably in a team lead position.

· Strong organizational, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.

· Knowledge of methods and procedures for inventory management.

· Ability to keep records and create reports.

· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Strong customer service orientation.

Working Environment

· Generally works in a warehouse/stockroom environment.

Physical Requirements

· Interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.

· Must be able to effectively communicate face-to-face, through clearly written emails, text, and phone.

· Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
