THE POSITION

We are hiring a motivated and compassionate individual to perform direct independent involvement with vulnerable families, infants affected by prenatal substance exposure, other children under the age of 18, and pregnant women and adolescents with substance and alcohol use disorders. As a County Social Services Aide, you will perform a wide variety of roles. You will assist and receive training from professional social services personnel in providing services to children, youth, and families. Work involves scheduling, transporting, and escorting clients to medical, dental, and other appointments. Also, you will provide transportation to foster homes, court hearings, and for recreation purposes.
Additional duties include assisting clients and/or families with everyday activities of living, home maintenance and care, and distributing and delivery of equipment, clothing, and other belongings of clients. Work includes providing supervision of children during office visits and in crisis situations in the home. In this role, you will perform routine clerical duties and the maintenance and care of waiting and visiting rooms.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Evenings, weekends, and holidays are required as needed.
- Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires applicants to possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Fayette County. If no eligible candidates who live within Fayette County apply for this position, candidates who reside in Westmoreland, Greene, Somerset, or Washington counties will be considered.
