Certified Respiratory Care Specialist

Join our dedicated team as a Certified Respiratory Care Specialist In this role, you will provide essential respiratory care and support to our residents, primarily focusing on adult and geriatric populations. You will utilize your clinical expertise to assess, manage, and improve the respiratory health of our residents while working closely with families and facility staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate, monitor, and maintain life support systems for residents.
- Manage artificial ventilator status and ensure optimal mechanical ventilation.
- Conduct thorough assessments of cardiopulmonary status to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Administer aerosolized medications and therapy modalities according to physician orders.
- Provide in-service training to families and facility staff, ensuring understanding of respiratory procedures.
- Participate in emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures as a vital member of the emergency team.
- Document all resident care services accurately and maintain comprehensive medical records.
- Engage in continuous education by attending training programs and reading professional journals.
- Collaborate in interdisciplinary rounds to evaluate and enhance resident care.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to improve our services.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an NBRC-approved respiratory therapy program.
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience under medical supervision.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- State Licensure for a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
