As an Ink Technician (also known as Color Specialist, Print Technician), you'll specialize in ink preparation for pad and screen printing processes. Your responsibilities include preparing and matching inks according to specific requirements, ensuring proper adhesion, and maintaining high standards of color accuracy and consistency. You'll also play a crucial role in quality control, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with prepress and printing teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; a degree or certification in Print Technology, Chemistry, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in ink mixing and color matching, preferably in the promotional products or printing industry.
  • Strong understanding of color theory and experience in Pantone Matching System (PMS) and other color standard systems.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment for mixing inks and preparing adhesives.
  • Attention to detail and precision in color formulation and mixing.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and safely handle chemicals and inks.
