SAP BW/BI

We are looking for SAP BW/BI (Business Warehouse/Business Intelligence) Developer specializes in designing, implementing, and managing data warehousing and analytics solutions using SAP BW (Business Warehouse) and BI tools. Their role is critical in transforming raw data into meaningful insights that support business decision-making. SAP BW/BI Analysts work closely with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, performance optimization, and the development of actionable reports.
Core Responsibilities

1. Data Modeling and Data Warehousing
   • Design and implement data models using SAP BW, including InfoObjects, InfoCubes, DataStore Objects (DSOs), and MultiProviders.
   • Define and manage ETL processes to load data into SAP BW from SAP and non-SAP systems.
   • Create efficient data flows using transformations, data transfer processes (DTPs), and Process Chains.
2. Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) Operations
   • Set up and manage data extraction from SAP modules (e.g., SD, MM, FI) and external sources.
   • Design complex data transformations to clean and harmonize data, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
   • Monitor data loads and troubleshoot ETL issues to ensure timely availability of data.
3. Report Development and Analytics
   • Build and customize reports and dashboards using SAP BI tools like SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Lumira, and SAP Analytics Cloud.
   • Develop BEx (Business Explorer) queries and Analysis for Office reports to meet business requirements.
   • Enable users to access data through interactive and user-friendly visualizations.
4. Performance Optimization and Tuning
   • Optimize data models and queries to improve SAP BW system performance.
   • Use SAP BW Accelerator or HANA-optimized BW to boost reporting and analytics response times.
   • Conduct regular performance checks and resolve bottlenecks in data processing and reporting.
5. Business Requirements Gathering and Analysis
   • Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting and data analysis needs.
   • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for BW data models and reports.
   • Continuously enhance reporting solutions to align with evolving business needs.
6. SAP BW/4HANA Integration and Migration
   • Assist in migrating SAP BW systems to SAP BW/4HANA, including data modeling changes and re-architecting data flows.
   • Leverage SAP BW/4HANA features, such as CompositeProviders and advanced DSO (aDSO), for optimized data storage and retrieval.
   • Integrate SAP BW/4HANA with SAP HANA or other databases for high-performance analytics.
7. Data Governance and Quality Assurance
   • Establish data validation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity within the BW environment.
   • Implement data governance policies, including data lineage and metadata management, to maintain data quality.
   • Document data definitions, processes, and workflows to support data consistency.

Key Skills

1. Technical Proficiency in SAP BW and BI Tools
   • Strong understanding of SAP BW architecture, including data modeling and ETL processes.
   • Proficiency in creating BEx queries and designing reports with SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Lumira, and SAP Analytics Cloud.
   • Knowledge of HANA-optimized BW and experience with SAP BW/4HANA, including advanced modeling objects like CompositeProviders.
2. ETL and Data Integration Skills
   • Expertise in extracting and transforming data from SAP (ECC, S/4HANA) and non-SAP systems.
   • Knowledge of SAP Data Services, SLT (SAP Landscape Transformation), and other ETL tools for data integration.
   • Experience in integrating SAP BW with external databases and data sources.
3. Data Modeling and Query Optimization
   • Proficiency in creating and optimizing InfoObjects, DSOs, InfoCubes, and CompositeProviders.
   • Strong SQL skills and experience in tuning data models for performance.
   • Familiarity with SAP HANA's in-memory database concepts to optimize data flows and queries.
4. Analytical and Reporting Skills
   • Ability to design and create meaningful reports and dashboards that support business objectives.
   • Experience with data visualization and storytelling to present insights effectively.
   • Skills in BEx Analyzer, Analysis for Office, and other SAP reporting tools.
5. Soft Skills
   • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
   • Excellent communication skills to translate technical findings into business insights.
   • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
