Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Provider

MRG Exams West, a wholly owned subsidiary of MRG Exams, is looking for a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Provider to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. This position involves extensive national travel. The provider will be responsible for reviewing medical health records through a secure web portal and performing a comprehensive assessment on each veteran. The provider will also complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQ's) through the web portal. DBQ's are condition-specific forms created by the VA. Through the DBQ's, the provider will document exam findings needed by the VA. The provider will not make disability determinations, as this is the VA's responsibility.
This is a PRN position. Candidates who have some availability every month are preferred. MRG Exams West is looking for PM&R physicians who are interested in performing Independent Medical Assessments versus traditional patient care and treatment. Independent medical assessments involve a medical fact-finding and investigative role. The provider will typically spend at least 50% of their day reviewing medical records and electronical documenting exam findings. They should be skilled at finding key data points within large electronic medical records and analyzing this data to complete the DBQ's and form medical opinions. Typing skills are essential, and they should be skilled at time management, able to stay on task and meet requirements. Completed DBQ's must be submitted within 24 hours after an exam. Providers should be interested in serving Veterans in their community.
- Current licensure as a Physiatrist is required
- Board Certification in either Neurological Surgery, PM&R or Psychiatry and Neurology is required
