Job Summary:

Perform PPAP activities (Production Part Approval Process) to successfully deliver the required documentation to the customer for new and existing products using APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) principles.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Interface with external customers to remove barriers and deliver successful PPAPs.
  • Utilize AIAG guidelines and customer-specific requirements to complete PPAPs.
  • Perform annual revalidation (annual layout) PPAPs per customer requirements
  • Submit IMDS, capability studies, and GRR/MSAs.
  • Review process flow, control plans, and PFMEAs provided at PPAP for accuracy
  • Participate in design reviews / feasibility reviews with the engineering team.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and quality to assure the successful execution of new orders.
  • Coordinate with the New Business Team to track on-time delivery of PPAPs and create action plans where needed.
  • Attend Daily Launch / PPAP priorities meeting to communicate any updates, issues or concerns related to PPAP of newly launched parts and ECN’s
  • Gather PPAP part samples daily from both Strongsville, OH facilities
  • Submit and follow up and review TSR’s (testing requests) to the CCL lab when applicable.
  • Attend weekly CCL laboratory department meetings for updates and communication related to PPAP
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to identify priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively use/operate measuring equipment such as comparators, digital calipers, micrometers, rulers, and measuring tapes
  • Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook comprehension
  • Experience with Engineering drawings (blueprints)
  • Must have the ability and willingness to learn
  • 3-5 years in the Automotive Industry (PPAP or Quality related experience a plus)
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in operations or engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • AIAG core tool training a plus.
  • Lean/ Six sigma training a plus.
  • Press/ machinery experience a plus.


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work on your feet on the plant floor for extended periods

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to perform minor heavy lifting.
