Position Summary:

The IT Manager is a critical position supporting the company's global SAP and EDI processes. Partnering with business operations, development, customers, suppliers and software providers to analyze processes, and improve processes. Adherence to project schedules and customer change requirements. The IT manager also supports system upgrades, and technical troubleshooting. The IT Manager will provide daily management, mentoring and colleague development.

The IT Manager shall have experience with variety of the ERP Systems concepts, practices, and procedures. Utilizes extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity is expected.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Works independently with minimal supervision from the Sr Manager.
  • Responsible for managing third party support for internal and external customers including troubleshooting, identifying system and process improvements, and quality assurance.
  • Proactively participates in identifying information problems and defining solutions for management approval.
  • Communicates with managers and their staffs to negotiate general approaches and requirements in developing system specifications.
  • Design and develop comprehensive technical solutions based on business or customer requirements and defined technology standards.
  • Designs the system by preparing the flow diagrams, specifications, input formats, file layouts, calculations and output formats for consensus agreement with users.
  • Keeps the manager aware of current deliverables status within the functional area, typically using standard internal reporting methods.
  • Is well versed on the complexity of communications and data base systems when designing and changing processes which affect these critical components.
  • Works closely with user representatives and other staff as part of a project team.
  • Maintains technical expertise in area of responsibility.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and business processes for new and existing SAP interfaces along with customer specific integrations.
  • Coordinates work with legacy systems personnel for interfaces and/or data conversions.
  • Coordinates SAP changes with customer, supplier chain support teams and application providers.
  • May lead fit/gap workshops, and present system solution alternatives to business leaders and/or process owners. Expected to think 'on your feet'.
  • Continually seeks self-education in computer system and programming methods, and utilizes books, manuals and resource aids to their fullest potential.
  • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or business required.
  • At least eight years of IT experience in roles of increasing scope and responsibility, including experience with SAP module configuration, EDI and Customer Service.
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively, self-motivated, and works without direct supervision.
  • Experience with the Seeburger EDI translator and mapping development is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP ECC 6.0, required.
  • APICS or related certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry action group data exchange standards, especially automotive release schedules, JIT, and advanced shipment notifications preferred.
  • Must have the ability to absorb information quickly and make decisions under pressure as to how to proceed with each issue based on its own merit.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated skills in work estimating, planning, scheduling, monitoring and driving to meet deliverable expectations.
  • Demonstrated design and configuration proficiency in SAP with knowledge of Customer and Item Master, Master data; Customer scheduling agreement processing, Picking, Packing and Shipping.
  • Demonstrated design and configuration proficiency in various SCM processes in a multi-national, multi-currency environment.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, SAP IDOC structures, ABAP fundamentals, and SAP files structures.
  • Experience in Customer EDI data exchange (Release Accounting and advanced shipment notification) is required. Knowledge of AIAG and/or EDIFACT formats preferred. Experience with Automotive EDI preferred.
  • Experience leading small to large teams on moderate to complex projects in all project phases implementation/support project required.
  • Experience leading working sessions with a varied IT and business audience, such as fit/gaps sessions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present difficult concepts, training and reporting to internal and external customers.
  • Excellent understanding of Supply Chain processes and its integration with other SAP modules.
  • Experience leading cross functional teams to design, develop and coordinate work which requires development/design consideration.
  • Ability to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Global SAP System utilizing Unicode.
Work Environment/Work Conditions:
  • Professional Office Environment.
  • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor.
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required.
  • Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury.
