Job Title: Registered Nurse - RN - Full-Time (Nights)

Reports To: Director of Nursing

Schedule: Thursday, Friday, & Saturday 6pm-6am

Compensation: $40-56/hour

Located in Edmonds, Washington, Northpoint Washington is a 44-bed inpatient residential treatment facility providing specialized treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our core purpose is to save lives and restore relationships.

Northpoint Recovery Holdings, LLC, established in 2009, is a growing, behavioral healthcare treatment platform treating adults with substance use disorder and co-occurring conditions under the Northpoint Recovery brand and adolescents with mental healthcare conditions under the Imagine by Northpoint brand. The Company serves patients with commercial health insurance and is an in-network model. Northpoint has grown from two facilities to fifteen today entirely on a de novo basis with plans to expand rapidly in both existing and new markets. POSITION OVERVIEW:

The primary responsibility of the Registered Nurse (RN) position is to provide direct nursing care to patients and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities in accordance with internal policies, and federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern Northpoint. In tandem with our multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse (RN) is entrusted to ensure that the highest degree of quality care will always be provided to our patients. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Manage and organize daily patient and nurse assignments, delegate daily tasks (such as blood draws)
  • Manage more acute and complex patient care, as needed
  • Participate in daily interdisciplinary meetings
  • Liaison between medical providers and medical director regarding daily patient appointments and follow ups
  • Manage patient hand-off when patients leave for off-site activities
  • Direct line for nurse concerns and questions
  • Communicate with the Director of Nursing for assignments and pass down
  • Administer medications to patients, and engage in education process
  • Utilize de-escalation skills when exposed to volatile patients to maintain personal safety for the patient and other individuals in our care
  • Provide admission, orientation, education and discharge plans to patients, families and others to aid in the treatment process
  • Consult with the multidisciplinary treatment team in the development of treatment plans and discharge planning to strive for excellent patient care
  • Participate in the maintenance of a clean, orderly and safe environment, and report needs for repairs and maintenance to appropriate staff
  • Admissions and discharges of patients
  • Obtain vital signs, monitor symptoms and document in the patient record
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and scope of licensure
  • Monitor patients on an ongoing basis to continually assess needs and facilitate medical treatment and interventions
  • Document medical assessment, diagnosis, progress notes, roundings, and other treatment planning items in a timely manner to assure comprehensive and quality patient care
  • Maintain professional boundaries with patients at all times
  • Oversee and participate in the quality assurance and compliance activities of the facility
  • Provide medical updates to utilization review and representatives of managed care to best coordinate reimbursement of treatment services
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of care
  • Other medically appropriate services and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
  • Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington
  • Current and nationally accredited CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • Knowledge of computer and electronic medical records systems (KIPU)
  • Enthusiasm, passion for working with people, and an internal drive to improve the lives of individuals in our care
  • We love new grads However, 2+ years of experience with one (1) year of mental health experience would really dazzle us
  • Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements throughout duration of employment
  • Ability to work with a diverse population along with interpersonal skills and knowledge required for treating patients in area of assigned specialty
  • Demonstrated ability to hold strong personal boundaries and ability to build rapport with patients
  • Must understand and adhere to the ethical standards of the respective licensure governing board

Ability to Commute/Relocate:
  • Edmonds, Washington; reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (Required)
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • Completion of a tuberculin screening during first week of employment
  • Completion of a pre-employment drug screening, post-accident and upon reasonable suspicion of use
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid Training within first 90 days of employment
  • Completion of background and professional reference checks
