Role Overview:

As a Quality Engineer in the manufacturing and life science industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance are maintained throughout the product development and manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance procedures, conducting thorough inspections, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality issues. Your role will contribute to the overall success of the organization by promoting a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Work Environment: On-site, Palmer MA

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
  • Utilize statistical analysis and quality control tools to monitor and control manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation, including inspection reports, test procedures, and quality records.
  • Generate and analyze quality metrics, providing regular reports to management on quality performance and improvement initiatives
  • Investigate and analyze non-conformities, defects, and customer complaints to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing enhancements to existing processes to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Provide training to employees on quality assurance processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Critical Competencies for Success
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably within manufacturing.
  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T): Skilled in interpreting and applying GD&T principles to ensure precise manufacturing and quality control. Experienced in creating and reviewing detailed technical drawings to verify compliance with tolerances, form, fit, and function requirements.
  • Proven knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Solid background in Statistical Process Control (SPC): Proficient in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting process data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues, allowing for proactive adjustments to maintain quality standards.
  • Proficient in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., statistical analysis, Six Sigma, FMEA).
  • Exceptional problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Previous leadership experience is advantageous: Candidates with leadership experience bring valuable skills in team coordination, mentoring, and guiding quality initiatives, which can enhance the effectiveness of quality processes and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
