Black Owl Recruiting is sourcing a Gastroenterologist to join the ASC Team of a reputable client in Forest Hills, NY. The gastroenterologist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions and disorders. They work with patients to develop treatment plans, conduct diagnostic procedures, and provide ongoing care and education regarding gastrointestinal health.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Evaluation and Diagnosis:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with gastrointestinal symptoms.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and imaging studies.
Diagnose conditions including, but not limited to, acid reflux, peptic ulcers, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and liver diseases.
Treatment and Management:
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.
Perform endoscopic procedures for diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal issues.
Manage chronic conditions and provide ongoing care and follow-up.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, and dietitians.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis.
Document patient information and treatment plans accurately and comprehensively.
Patient Education:
Educate patients about gastrointestinal health, preventive measures, and lifestyle changes.
Provide guidance on medication usage and dietary modifications.
Research and Continuing Education:
Stay current with advancements in gastroenterology through continued medical education and research.
Participate in clinical research and contribute to scholarly publications, if applicable.
Qualifications:
Education and Training:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Completion of a residency in internal medicine.
Fellowship training in gastroenterology.
Licensing and Certification:
Board certification in gastroenterology.
State medical license to practice.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
Physical Requirements:
May involve standing for extended periods during procedures.
Requires manual dexterity and precision for performing endoscopic procedures.
This role is critical in managing complex gastrointestinal issues and improving patient outcomes through specialized care and ongoing support.
Pay: Based on experience
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time, Sunday - Friday
