Shifts/Availability: Monday-Friday Day Availability/PT
Rate: $14.50-$15.00/hour

About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.

Position Purpose: The Upper Main Line YMCA is looking for enthusiastic leaders to help make a positive impact on our campers this summer. Our Nature and STEM camps provide amazing summer experiences and memories for ages 4-14 while connecting with the great outdoors and science. Our fun and engaging activities focus on four areas: wildlife conservation, sustainable agriculture, STEM, and service learning. The Complex includes Nature Center with live animal exhibits, Barnyard with goats, sheep, and chickens, raised vegetable beds, Raptor Center, Watershed Lab, STEM classroom and the Cassatt Preserve with 20-acres of woodland, wetlands, streams, meadows, pond, and five-miles of trails.

Responsibilities:

• Nature education for campers through various nature related activities
• Ensures the safety and well-being of all campers in the group and camp-wide
• Assists with the planning and implementation of activities in accordance with the camp schedule
• Maintains positive relationships with campers, parents and staff
• Organizes and maintains camp equipment, supplies and property
• Actively participates in all aspects of the day camp schedule as assigned
• Maintains camp records including, but not limited to accident & incident reports, sign in/out sheets, attendance documents
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age and/or have prior experience in working with children and/or successful completion of the YMCA CIT program and/or completion of child development classes offered in school
• Experience in Specialty program areas such as Arts and Humanities, Sports, Environmental Education or Aquatics
• Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs
• Attend all required pre-camp and camp season trainings and meetings as scheduled
