Job Summary and Qualifications
1. Perform appropriate assessments to include psychological, physical, environmental & functional needs.
2. Provide patient & family education specific to the patient's disease process.
3. Serve as a resource for education for patient, family, staff, hospital & community.
4. Communicate with all members of the transplant team to include hospital staff & referring physician/staff
5. Participate in the collection/entry of data in the patient medical record as required by all regulatory agencies
6. Document assessments, interventions & follow-up accurately & timely
7. Coordinate care through the phases of transplantation with the transplant team.
What qualifications you will need:
- Mandatory: Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.

- Mandatory: Valid Texas RN License & BLS
- Prefer: Strong critical thinking skills
- Prefer: Indirect patient care over the phone. There will be in-person but the majority of the time is spent on the phone with patients. Won't be using majority of RN skills.
Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant has been nationally recognized for its record setting kidney, liver and pancreas transplant programs. It is home to the Texas Transplant Institute and is the largest living donor kidney transplant program in the US. According to the United Network of Organ Sharing database, the center reached a major milestone in 2019 by performing 231 living donor kidney transplants in a single year setting a new national record - that's 65 more transplants than the second center on the list.
