Big-D Heavy Industrial has an opportunity for a Quality Technician to join our Heavy Industrial team. This is a traveling role and once the project is complete, you will be assigned to a different location.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc.
  • Two years of construction related experience
  • Minimum one year in quality control inspection discipline
  • ICC, ACI and/or Nuclear Gauge certifications preferred
  • HS Degree Required
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned to meet business needs)

Quality Control
  • Participates in the development of the project specific Quality and ITP plans
  • Helps develop and administer Non Conformance Reports (NCR’s) as required
  • Perform daily inspections of all construction and determine conformance with contract documents.
  • Document daily observations through detailed reporting and photos.
  • Verifies onsite received materials meet contract specific requirements. Ensures materials are stored in compliance with contract documents.
  • Communicate with others regarding inspections results and recommend corrective procedures.
  • Participate in activities to support the company's strategic planning efforts.
  • Participate in the implementation of Quality Control Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Perform control measuring and manage testing / sampling.
  • Verify the installation of the systems and materials and in accordance with the assigned discipline.
  • Collaborates with operations to produce task specific quality management plans.
  • Ensures that deficient items are being reported, tracked and corrected.
  • Knowledge of International Building Code (IBC), SSTM Standards and ACI Standards.
