Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician Job Specialty: Medical Laboratory Technician Job Duration: Shift: Varies, Full Time Guaranteed Hours: Experience: License: Must meet the CLIA Requirements for High Complexity Testing Personnel Certifications: Must-Have: Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or related fields Job Description: - Perform all laboratory procedures and report test results accurately and reliably, in accordance with established policies.- Demonstrate technical knowledge and skill in conducting laboratory tests, prioritizing work for optimal patient care, and adhering to turnaround time goals.- Communicate effectively with lab coworkers, physicians, caregivers, patients, and vendors to ensure continuity of procedures and services.- Consult with a lead technician, supervisor, or pathologist regarding inconsistent test results or unresolved procedural difficulties.- Perform and evaluate all required quality control and maintenance procedures, implement corrective actions as needed, and troubleshoot instruments effectively.- Adhere to all Infection Control/Safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness of the work area and equipment.- Exhibit fiscal responsibility by using supplies efficiently and rotating stock to use oldest supplies first.- Complete all other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities. Required Education: - Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences- Associate in Science in Medical Laboratory Technology- 52-week military training certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology- Senior Bachelor of Science student in Medical Technology currently in clinical laboratory rotations- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science Preferred Experience: - Not specifiedThis role is an integral part of the laboratory team, ensuring high standards of patient care and test result accuracy.
