In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and participate in hands-on tests, assembly, and troubleshooting of fluidics and imaging systems for both Operations and R&D team
  • Provide engineering support for the Operations team on day-to-day production activities
  • Develop surface characterization techniques to control internal production processes and validate testing tools for the QC team
  • Use material and mechanical engineering knowledge to develop and optimize new surface chemistries
  • Maintain fluidic components on a complex laboratory setup
  • Optimize production processes to improve process robustness and reduce cost
  • Be part of the engineering team to scale up and automate the current processes of production
  • Work with the Operations Team to transfer the process to manufacturing and support validation and verification activities
  • Report to the Sr. Director of Process Engineering
  • Contribute to building the culture of a fast-growing company
You have:
  • PhD in Bioengineering, Material Science, Biophysics, Biomechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience post PhD in academia or industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of surface engineering, surface chemistry, and characterization techniques
  • Experience with automating various lab instrumentation, fluorescent microscopy, fluidics, and rapid prototyping techniques including 3D printing and machining
  • Experience with image analysis
  • Programming experience with MATLAB and Python
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in the laboratory
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, agile, and inter-disciplinary environment
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Ability to quickly acquire new techniques and knowledge
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
