The Business Analyst II will report to the Department of Information Technology (IT) and will work with and support multiple departments and agencies served by IT. The selected candidate will:
- Interact and communicate with City Leadership and Department Directors
- Collect, analyze, develop, document, and communicate business requirements to achieve business goals
- Work with business partners within business processes, projects, or customer groups to align technology solutions with business strategies
- Gather, develop, coordinate, and maintain business requirements for various projects and/or systems from initial phase to final implementation, assuring requirements meet standards
- Develop user test cases and functional specifications; and coordinate the capture of process models and functional testing, ensuring system is functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated
- Assist in the development of project definitions, cost/benefit and risk analysis, work plans, progress reports, and presentations
- Interact with users, other portfolios, and vendors for full life cycle of project
- May manage technology vendor relationships, including contract execution and scope definition
- Monitor and summarize progress of projects. Assist in maintenance and communication of project status reports and tracking
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams managing moderately to highly complex business processes
- Transition product support to systems operations, ensuring system is functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well integrated
- Provide user support and coordinates resolution of issues to include change management, root cause analysis, and appropriate escalation as needed
- Prepare user documentation and participates in end-user training
- May act as a team lead to less senior IT Business Analysts
- Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge, and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on then current workloads and department needs
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business, or closely related fields
- Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA) or Certified Business Analysis Professional(CBAP)
- Lean Six Sigma
- 3 years IT analytical experience
- ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical audiences
