Department Overview
The pharmacy department at Children’s Minnesota is staffed by registered pharmacists and certified pharmacy technicians with specialized training in pediatric pharmacy. Our inpatient pharmacists perform daily rounds with providers and are essential partners in providing state-of-the-art pediatric comprehensive medication management services, pharmacy automation, IV production and compounding services. Children's pharmacists provide medication education, consultation and specialized drug information services, as well as participating in educational and outreach programs. We provide 24-hour inpatient operations services along with 16-hour decentral pharmacist coverage. Our inpatient decentral team includes trained subspecialists in neonatal, pediatric and cardiovascular critical care, including cardiac transplant, pediatric medicine, oncology, neuroscience, emergency medicine (including Level I trauma services) and research. Our pharmacists are also essential partners in the ambulatory setting, providing pediatric pharmacy services for home infusion, retail pharmacy, oncology clinic/infusion center and hemophilia treatment center, as well as medication therapy management (MTM) within our primary and specialty care clinics. We are committed to training the next generation of pediatric pharmacy professionals through mentoring of pharmacy students and post-doctoral training in our robust residency program, which includes post-graduate year one (PGY1) and two (PGY2) residencies in pediatrics and pharmacogenomics. Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician III assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. In addition, the technician assists a registered pharmacist in the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing assessment of pharmacy initiatives and medication processes.
Also, the Pharmacy Technician III is expected to collect and input prescriptions (new and refill) and patient information. The technician will also support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions.
Must be able to multi-task and perform repetitive tasks accurately.
The Pharmacy Technician III also supports other pharmacy technicians by filling in when needed, providing hands-on training in areas where highly proficient. They will act as a mentor and guide to other pharmacy technicians (new and tenured). They are responsible for maintaining competency in all aspects of the pharmacy technician job description and supporting competency-based training for all pharmacy technicians. This individual must be able to identify and provide recommendations to optimize processes, address deficiencies, etc.

Active technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy OR active registration as a pharmacy intern in the state of MN with active enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy is required. For newly registered technicians/registered interns without Tech 240 certification, you will need to complete 240 hours of theoretical and practical training on-site within twelve months of hire.
Certified as a pharmacy technician (CPhT) is required.
Active registration as a pharmacy intern in the state of MN with active enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy may be accepted in lieu of CPhT certification.

The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.
All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S. Government Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.
