Fleet Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and promote a safety-first culture within the Transportation department to ensure the well-being of all associates, customers, and the public.
• Coach and develop drivers and Transportation associates, provide performance feedback, and ensure proper training on job duties, safety, and legal responsibilities.
• Supervise and manage the work and productivity of drivers and clerical associates, driving engagement, retention, and upholding company values.
• Build high-performing teams by participating in hiring, performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary action as needed.
• Monitor production goals, ensure accuracy, and troubleshoot delivery problems to maintain customer satisfaction and adherence to DOT regulations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety and efficiency.
• Oversee routine safety and driver meetings, maintenance of driver qualification files, and accident investigation and prevention.

Supervision: Union and/or non-union Drivers

Relationships: Internal: Transportation leaders, coworkers, and warehouse leaders; External: Customers

Work Environment: May spend significant time on the road and in an office working on a computer.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of three years of transportation/delivery experience, including one year of workforce management. Experience as a driver is beneficial.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong leadership, communication, and DOT compliance skills. Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).

Travel: 10% travel required for mandatory meetings and/or training.

Education/Training: High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.

Physical Qualifications: Must be able to stand, walk, drive, sit, lift, carry, and perform various physical activities as needed.
