Title: Mechanical Engineering Technician - 1st Shift (Direct Hire Opportunity)

Location: Columbus, IN

Pay: Starting pay of $31-35/hour

Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:30am-3:30pm

Role Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for building, repairing, and preparing articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment. Additionally, you will install test articles into test structures, perform tests according to set test methods and procedures, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results. You will also configure and operate data acquisition systems, analyze data, and provide support to engineering for equipment evaluation, maintenance, and updates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build, repair, and prepare articles for testing.
  • Install test articles into test structures.
  • Perform tests according to established methods and procedures.
  • Provide accurate and reliable test results.
  • Configure and operate data acquisition systems.
  • Analyze data and provide recommendations to engineering.
  • Perform test stand installation, troubleshooting, and setups.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment.
Key Requirements for Success:
  • Action-oriented with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
  • Effective communicator across different audiences.
  • Ability to manage complexity and solve problems.
  • Good decision-making skills.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent in a STEM field.
  • Relevant certification or two-year Associate's Degree may be required.
  • Licensing may be necessary for compliance with regulations.
Experience:
  • Significant relevant work experience or specialized skills.
  • Experience in running test cells preferred.
  • Mechanical work experience, such as engine rebuilds or installations.
  • Strong sense of team building and initiative.
