Typical tasks and skills required by our Project Engineers/Contract Administrators are:

INFORMATION COLLECTION AND ORGANIZATION:

  • Review contracted projects interpreting specific requirements including: scope of work, contract drawings, specifications, estimate, and insurance stipulations.
  • Collection of information and creation of submittal packages including: introduction letters, W-9's, MSDS, site specific hazard analysis, safety program, substance abuse policy, assigned schedule of values, insurance certificate, product information, etc.
  • Working with Project Managers, General Contractor's and Architects to determine suitable product substitutions, as necessary.
  • Providing all information to the accounting department including resale certificates, copies of contract, schedule of assigned values, and applicable pay application forms / wage information.
  • Procurement and maintenance of current job specific certificates of insurance.
  • Procurement and maintenance of job specific bonds, as required.
  • Ordering, assembling, submitting and maintaining copies of all close-out documents which including: backflow testing, irrigation as-builts, irrigation controller chart, owner training, irrigation instructions, winterization/spring start-up & troubleshooting instructions, irrigation O&M's, requesting punchlist / final inspections and providing warranty letter.
  • Forwarding applicable lien letters and documents.
  • Departmental/project support including: RFI's, correspondence, interdeparmental collaboration, billing, etc.
PRODUCT PROCUREMENT
  • Interpret project bids, create purchase orders based upon quoted quantities and products.
  • Collaboration with vendors to secure purchase orders, competitive pricing and/or suitable alternative products.
  • Secure suppliers and assemble product list for each project to include suppliers name, contact information, quantities, prices and special ordering instructions.
Preferred experience for Project Engineer/Contract Administrator role:
  • Professional experience in the construction industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Proficient with MS Office products: Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
  • Effective time management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Landscaping experience preferred, not required.
