Our mission at Glenwood City Veterinary Clinic is to offer first-rate, compassionate veterinary care. We are a full-service, small animal practice and rehab facility.

We possess a tremendous team and see some outstanding clientele. Our team comprises three doctors, three certified veterinary technicians, several technician/kennel assistants, and CSRs.

Position Purpose

We are looking to add an experienced veterinarian to our team to take on the role of Managing DVM

We are a successful, steady-paced, and team-focused small animal practice ready to welcome a new generation of leadership

The Managing DVM is responsible for providing medical and non-medical leadership for the practice, managing associate veterinarians, and ensuring regulatory compliance relating to veterinary medicine. The Managing DVM is also responsible for creating an environment of teamwork and collaboration in which quality medicine is delivered.

Our current MDVM, Dr. Wilke, is a board certified surgeon, which has allowed our practice to build a large specialty surgery, theriogenology, and physical therapy caseload. If you are a DVM with surgical interest, this position would be great for you.

Additional responsibilities include guiding the direction of the practice, advancing medical care, and monitoring the practice's financial performance.

About the area: Glenwood City is a friendly and welcoming community about an hour east of the Twin Cities. We value the town's history and celebrate our tight-knit, small town feel. Here, there are plenty of outdoor activities to take advantage of such as fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, or sledding. The downtown area is full of charming shops and restaurants that embody the local culture. The area is also incredibly safe and home to an excellent school system.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients' medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.
