Summary:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this role involves performing a range of administrative tasks to support the smooth and efficient operation of the Department of Palliative Care. Responsibilities include managing office operations, coordinating schedules, handling communications, and assisting with departmental projects to ensure overall effectiveness and efficiency.
Essential Functions

Provides administrative assistance to department by demonstrating proficiency and efficiency in using computers, related equipment, EMR, word processing, spreadsheet software, and various other programs to maximize productivity of departments.
Demonstrates organizational skills, responsible for creating and completing monthly reports, maintaining policies and procedures, manual spreadsheets and other written work according to established guidelines and within the established time schedule to support efficient and effective department operations.
Responsible for timely, accurate data in MyTime. Responsible for initiating and maintaining monthly schedules and for tracking the departmentrsquo;s on-call schedules entered into MyTime.
Performs assigned duties for the Palliative Care Departments by answering the telephone, greeting visitors and staff, providing physicians, patients, community callers, staff and referral sources information to ensure streamlined and courteous department operation. Provides support for our Palliative Care bereavement services.
Responsible for scheduling patient/family appointments, assists in maintenance and retention of records in EMR, and assists in coordinating new consults for staff assignment.
Assists department manager in maintaining fiscal responsibilities by monitoring use of supplies and submits requests for supplies needed.
Performs other duties as assigned
Education:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, or business training program or business school certificate. Some college education is preferred.
AND
Experience:
Requires three or more years of administrative experience, including written communication skills, office software proficiency, and computer data entry/ document handling. Health care experience is preferred
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
