The Design Manager leads a team of designers and establishes project schedules that support the product plan, business goals and brand initiatives. This position reports to the Director of Product Development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage design-driven collections that fulfill our business goals and brand initiatives.
  • Create and implement a training plan for direct reports (designers) that encompasses the entire design process from conceptual development through product launch.
  • Partner with the Director of Product Development and Category Manager to oversee the product plan's execution in alignment with business goals.
  • Partner with Marketing and the Category Manager in all aspects of product development through to product launch.
  • Identify and understand training and other growth opportunities for direct reports.
  • Establish best practices and continual process improvements for design development.
  • Develop and implement onboarding and training plans for new designers.
  • Work with designers to cultivate relationships with sales, marketing, manufacturing and vendor partners.
  • Guide designers through the execution of collections that meet market demands, product gaps and business goals.
  • Foster a collaborative environment within the Patcraft team and externally with industry partners.
  • Collaborate with Director of Product Development to formulate the product plan and outline key initiatives and business goals.
  • Implement a project management process that ensures that deadlines are met, and all projects are fully executed.
  • Implement time management techniques that will enable designers to work more efficiently while consistently elevating the quality of design.
  • Lead design team in maximizing design software capabilities that will lead to increased productivity, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify additional opportunities for process improvement that will contribute to a faster time to market.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree & a minimum of 5 years carpet design experience
  • 2+ years of project leadership experience
  • Ability to lead a design team and effectively communicate design objectives and expected outcomes.
  • Ability to come into the office minimum 4 days a week
  • Willing to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally
  • Organized, detail-oriented and has strong time management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Commercial design experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in M365 programs, Adobe Creative Suite and/or Nedgraphics Texcelle and Tuft.

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
