General Summary: Investigates, evaluates, and resolves a variety of Auto Material Damage claims. These claims will involve Personal and Commercial lines policies with damage to private passenger, commercial, and specialty vehicles.

A day in the Life of a AMD Claims Representative

1. Complies with unit and department procedures and State Fair Claims Practices Act.

2. Keeps apprised of industry standards, trends, and laws.

3. Sets reserves and issues loss and expense payments via department procedures.

5. Investigates facts and determines coverage, liability, damages of auto and personal property.

6. Reviews and evaluates estimates and photos and use of appropriate vendors and inspections.

7. Obtains details for property and injury reassignments.

8. Provides timely and quality customer service to customers, vendors, and agents.

9. Assists other members of AMD Unit.

10. Practices pro-active agency relations.

11. Contributes to a team environment to promote and support unit, department, and organizational goals; communicates effectively and supports colleagues and other associates.

12 Obtains Adjuster Licenses that are required for claim handling in states where Ohio Mutual writes business.

You may also:

1. Attends classes, seminars, and training either in-house or off-site.

2. Acts as a back-up for other claim representatives who are out of the office.

3. Periodic travel for investigations, agency visits, and court hearings.

4. Attends monthly and quarterly meetings; participates in discussions during AMD Unit Meeting.

5. Assists in CAT events.

You may be a great fit for this role if you:
  1. Have a college degree or equivalent work experience.
  2. Have strong organizational and time management skills; experience in a production environment where time management, workload prioritization, case management, record keeping and documentation, accountability and follow-up are key priorities.
  3. Have strong communication, customer service, decision-making, critical thinking and investigative skills.
  4. Have a high level of organizational, reasoning, and listening skills.
  5. Have strong interpersonal skills for working with other associates, agents, insureds, various federal or state agencies and numerous other outside contacts.
  6. Have an understanding of vehicle parts and body shop estimates.
  7. Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Are active in insurance-related studies such as AIC, SCLA, CPCU, etc.

Limited supervision, working with own choice in selection, development, and coordination of methods to use to accomplish assignment.
