The Department's Client is seeking the services of an experienced Systems Administrator under the working title of Azure Cloud Engineer.
Scope of Work/Job Characteristics: The Azure Cloud Engineer shall serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the Department. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
- Develop and maintain processes that optimize Microsoft Azure resources;
- Analyze Azure resource performance to identify resource contention, and recommend changes or upgrades as needed to ensure optimization;
- Perform Microsoft Entra identification management activities;
- Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation;
- Work with data center staff, Client, and users to perform Azure resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes;
- Assist Azure application owners/administrators and users with appropriate application access;
- Train infrastructure team members on Azure and Azure best practices as required;
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows and Linux server issues with minimal impact on users;
- Write PowerShell scripts to be used to monitor server properties and perform Active Directory and Azure management activities;
- Administer and configure Azure infrastructure security as needed for Client staff and users;
- Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements;
- Provide recommendations for possible process improvements within the Department's infrastructure team;
- Create schedules for the development and implementation of specific software systems; and
- Perform additional Systems Administrator tasks as required by the Department.
NOTE : This position is designated as "essential staff" and is expected to report for duty when instructed to do so in times of emergency or potential emergency.
