Job Description:

Position Summary:
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for localization of treatment areas and administration of radiation treatments to patients under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist.
Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduated from an accredited Radiation Therapy school

• merican Heart Association BLS

• merican Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

• Three (3) years of experience in a similar role and knowledge of electronic health record operating systems.
Essential Job Functions:

• dministers radiation therapy

• Ensures all documents required for treatment are completed.

• Performs simulations and simulation radiography (i.e. CT, MRI, and PET) to localize treatment area while confirming treatment plan with the Radiation Oncologist.

• Educates patient regarding procedure on first day of treatment.

• Observes all safety regulations concerning ionizing radiation both for self and patients and reporting any incidence outside of normal operating parameters to the Medical Physicist.

• ttends weekly chart rounds and monthly department meetings.

• Maintains a safe and clean environment within the work setting.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
