PGS Worldwide is actively seeking skilled Structural Analysis Engineers to support ongoing projects for an Aerospace leader in Palmdale, CA. This is an initial 12-month contract-to-hire opportunity and I will respond immediately to all qualified candidates.

Job Description:

  • Uses computational methods and tools in a specialized field (strength of metallic and composite structures, finite element analysis, fatigue and damage tolerance, etc.).
  • Performs pre-dimensioning computations by implementing analytical or digital computation methods and pass judgement on the credibility of the data received and the results obtained.
  • Take part in drawing up the measurement plan applicable to the tests, and analyze the results.
Requirements:
  • Special Access Program Clearance required to start.
  • Required experience with structural mechanics simulation software including NASTRAN and PATRAN.
  • Must be familiar with using UNIX computer systems.
  • Must have knowledge and experience applying skills, tools, and judgment to the field of aircraft primary structure design.
  • Candidate must be capable of interpreting detail, assembly, and installation type drawings.
  • Experience with airframe primary structure layout and sizing.
  • Experience with hand analysis of aerospace structures.
Desired:
  • Familiarity and experience with other related tools such as CATIA V5 or Siemens NX desired.
  • Experience analyzing aircraft subsystems and subsystem installations highly desired.
  • Familiarity with Slim, Vision, and IDAT a plus
