Roles and responsibilities:
- The ICU RN manages the nursing care of critically ill patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilities include:
- Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs.
- Carries out physician orders.
- Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs.
- Provides respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients.
- Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Monitors, records and communicates patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of acute care ICU RN experience. (Would Consider speaking with candidates that have 1 year of ICU HOWEVER, THAT'S ONLY if the candidate has multiple years of RN experience)
- Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN required
- Current State of Florida license for Registered Nurse or appropriate compact licensure. If a compact license is held, an active FL RN license is required within 90 days of hire.
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- CCRN preferred
