Who We Are

RFK Community Alliance (RFKCA) promotes well-being by providing high-quality care to individuals and families facing complex challenges. As a multi-service agency, RFKCA offers programs for all ages, addressing educational, developmental, and mental health needs. Working with families, schools, and community partners, RFKCA builds a support network that fosters skill-building and resilience.
Our Legacy Mentoring program in Berkshire County supports youth ages 11-24 who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation or trafficking. It offers individualized mentoring, case management, legal advocacy, and pro-social activities to help participants develop life skills and independence.

Who We Seek

You are a dedicated Case Manager passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth (ages 11-24) who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation or trafficking. You will work alongside a Survivor Mentor, providing individualized mentoring, case management, and legal advocacy to support participants in developing life skills, independence, and safety. With a caseload of 15-20, you'll connect participants to stable housing, pro-social activities, and community resources. You respect and support LGBTQI+ and bicultural youth, offering trauma-informed care. Reporting to the Program Coordinator, you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team working to reduce exploitation and increase safety.

Key Areas of role:
  • Provide one-on-one support and case management to participants who have been commercially sexually exploited. This support will include weekly, biweekly, or monthly meetings (depending on where a participant is in recovery) with each meeting lasting 1-2 hours. Contacts may occur wherever the participant lives (including in group care, a juvenile justice facility, foster home, family setting, and/or in the community).
  • Provide effective advocacy, case management, and refer participant for additional services in the community as necessary
  • Ensure program participants have identified medical providers as well as access to community services.
  • Assist participant in identifying and assessing immediate and long-term needs, including safety, well-being, and self-sufficiency.
  • Develop and facilitate treatment plans and diverse psycho-educational groups.
  • Provide written documentation of each contact with your assigned participant using designated reporting forms and data collection forms.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members in developing an appropriate support service, education, and treatment plan for each assigned Mentees.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including law enforcement, to enhance each youth's safety and ability to aid in a prosecution, when appropriate.
  • Attend supervision meetings with Legacy Program Coordinator as well as weekly staff meetings.
  • Attend mandatory training as required for position and/or to promote professional development. Track hours to provide to supervisor as requested.
  • Serve as a positive role model consistent with agency guidelines regarding professionalism, boundaries, and ethical standards
  • Additional assigned duties as needed or requested by supervisor that fall within the scope of the position.

Who You Are

You have 1-2 years of experience working with at-risk youth, particularly in out-of-home placements or within DMH/DCF/DYS systems. While a Bachelor's degree in human services, criminal justice, social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred, it's not required. You bring a high level of self-awareness and relate well to diverse populations. You have a valid driver's license, a dependable vehicle, and can pass a background check (CORI). Bilingual skills are a plus.

Shift:

40 hours per week, from 9 am to 5 pm, with occasional flexibility for participant groups or recreational activities. There is no on-call rotation required.
