Clinical Counselor for Transition Age Clinic

Sign-on Bonus and Relocation Reimbursement available

  • Provide psychosocial evaluation, diagnostic, and counseling therapy services for patients across all age groups
  • Prepare treatment and discharge plans, follow up care programs, and documentation
  • Provide and arrange for emergency services and crisis intervention for patients with emotional or behavioral disturbances
  • Refer clients to appropriate service agencies for additional required services
  • Perform various administrative functions such as monitoring expenditures and preparing reports and correspondence
  • Provide clinical supervision to lower level therapists and graduate social work students/interns
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings, and workshops
  • Promote and use best practices in treatment to meet published departmental expectations for client access and productivity
  • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols including identifying and reporting/correcting environmental conditions and situations that may put a patient at undue risk and report any potential or actual patient safety concerns in a timely manner

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a related discipline
  • 3 years directly related experience in an age-appropriate environment
  • Bilingual in English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo (preferred)
  • LPCC/CMHC or LCSW or LMFT in New Mexico
  • Light work physical demand requirements including walking or standing to a significant degree, requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls, and/or may require working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of materials is negligible
  • May be credentialed by UNMH Credentialing Committee
  • Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE
